Why Invest In A Car Fridge?

Many of us would look at a car fridge and laugh. What on Earth does somebody need with one of those? It looks awfully frivolous. However, many people look at them and say, I need to get me one! Why? Well, one important use for it is camping. As compared to a cooler that will eventually melt ice and get warm, a car fridge is run by your car's electricity and therefore stays cool.

Camping and journeys are really the best applications for a car fridge. The are both cases in which you will be driving for a long time, perhaps nowhere near a rest station or grocery store. In hot weather, it is very nice and convenient to have the fridge in the car to pull ice-cold drinks from on the road. Particularly if you have no air conditioning in your car.

This can simply make trips much more exciting. If anyone can recall going on a road trip and having warm drinks, they will totally understand why the car fridge is slowly becoming an American essence. I know my family thinks it absolutely necessary, we wouldn't even think of traveling without it! We have used that old way with the warm drinks, now we can even carry things like cheese sandwiches and yogurt!

It is also very nice knowing that your food has been kept cold enough for safe usage. There is nothing worse than getting sick on a road trip as a result of contaminated food from your warm cooler.

Another common type is the "in car fridge". This is a refrigerator which is permanently attached to the car and usually rests under the center console or other inconspicuous, but roomy place. This car refrigerator is installed to the car's electric system which makes it cook all the time. This is excellent for summer road trips, but may not be worth the cost to have one installed.

For long term use and portability, a Waeco car fridge has a compressor, similar to a home fridge which will keep your food colder for a long time. See, part of the problem with the above car fridges is that when they are unplugged from the car they do not normally last very long. One with a compressor last a lot longer than battery powered ones.
