The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Architectures In A Extended And Productive Line From Iscar

Manufacturers and die & mold shops can abolish chatter problems in several milling operations with Iscar's completely new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the principal source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, users also report longer edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free feature is offered in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip line. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These revolutionary endmills are excellent for low power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can handle full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip version is more limited since the active length is shorter. In full slotting applications on alloy steel, the solid carbide construction conveniently handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.

FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills

Iscar is releasing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a unprecedented solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a combination of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more swiftly and efficiently than conventional endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Consequently, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill needs to be used in order to obtain a flat surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining 2 endmill types in the stock.

Features of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature four flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially further from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes remove the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a fine surface finish.

The tool is fully capable and enables running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.

The exceptional tool design reduces vibration at high load applications.

The tool creates short and long chips simultaneously. This chip mixture is evacuated more easily than each individual chip type, an excellent solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.

The Finishred is also available with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which incorporates the Finishred features with the benefit of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the extensive range of shank and extension options are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.

A single tool substitutes the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore reducing stock.

Tool change and setup time can be eliminated.

An extra tool position is gained on the machine

New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for High Metal Removal Rates

ISCAR is announcing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The brand new endmills are offered with 3 and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with diminished neck diameter, which enable machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting feature and force distribution can be used very effectively on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge incorporates flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are favored for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the introductory tests conducted at various customers' locations showed extraordinary results.

Cutting Edge Tools And Carbide Insert Arrangements From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Procedure
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Several Improvements Have Enhanced Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Increased Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

A Few Of Advancements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar Across The Past Decade
Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
