An Alcohol Addicted Individual Enrolls In Rehab And Receives Alcohol Detox And Rehabilitation For His Alcohol Dependency
Donald used to brag to his friends how he could remain employed at a demanding and full-time job and get inebriated virtually every night. Sadly, after continuing this party lifestyle for just about two years, he started to notice various alcohol related problems.
As an illustration, he had a hard time getting up for work because he felt so little energy when he awoke. Not only this, but virtually every morning Donald experienced a painful hangover. In a word, the combination of his hangovers and his lack of get-up-and-go did not make it easy for him to get up and feel inspired to go to work. To make things worse, about a week ago he received his second driving under the influence arrest in the past year-and-a-half.
To compound things further, at work his last two work evaluations were less than acceptable. And lastly, his two-and-a-half-year relationship with his girlfriend had gone downhill due to his lack of patience, depression, financial difficulties, and his angry outbursts.
Although Donald was only twenty-three years old, he simply started to look like he was in his mid thirties. Unfortunately, this is what irresponsible and hazardous drinking can do to an individual. And in all candor he understood that he was experiencing the adverse outcomes of alcohol abuse or alcoholism and that he was too young to give up his life to careless drinking. So at first he tried to drink in moderation. Regrettably, he soon comprehended the fact that he lost all control after drinking his first alcoholic beverage. Due to the fact that this was a circumstance that was repeated every time he went to a bar to drink, this obviously concerned him a great deal. In fact, he started to wonder if he was displaying some of the stages of alcoholism.
After discussing his alcohol drinking problems and his careless and excessive drinking with his lady friend, he finally made up his mind to make an appointment to see his healthcare professional. When Donald saw his healthcare practitioner, he sincerely stated that he has been abusing alcohol, that he may be exhibiting behavior characteristic of the various alcoholism stages, and that he wants to refrain from drinking. He then confirmed that drinking responsibly and in moderation does not work well for him and as a result, he wants to learn how he can create an alcohol-free lifestyle.
Donald also told his doctor about his depression and how this mental health issue was negatively affecting his relationship with his girlfriend. His doctor referred Donald to Doctor Rose, a drug and alcohol addiction psychiatrist, who motivated Donald to register in an alcohol and drug treatment clinic as an in-patient for alcohol detox and alcohol rehab. Fortunately, Donald would also be able to get treatment for his depression at this facility.
After six months of comprehensive rehabilitation, Donald left the residential rehabilitation center and continued his recovery via outpatient therapy and via going to local Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Motivated to change his life in a more positive way, Donald joined a gym and started working out three or four times per week. Within six months Donald was a new person. He was not depressed anymore, he was in shape, he was eating nutritious meals, and most significant of all, he remained sober for several months. He also did not resort to angry outbursts, he became more patient, and he became a more loving individual in his relationship with his lady friend. In a word, quitting drinking was the best decision Donald had ever made.
