A Teenager Talks To Her Drinking Friends To Uncover More Information About Alcohol Abuse And Alcohol Addiction

Heather drank a lot with her drinking pals. One Monday after school she began reflecting on her drinking behavior and the careless and irresponsible drinking of her friends. As a consequence of this, she asked all of her drinking pals the following question: "what do we really know about alcoholism, binge drinking, alcohol abuse, and alcohol poisoning? In other words, how much alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse information do we really know? For our young age, we certainly drink in a hazardous and excessive manner and I am beginning to wonder if all of us are headed for a life filled with alcohol-related difficulties down the road.

I think we need to go on the web and discover all that is possible about alcohol abuse, binge drinking, alcohol poisoning, and alcoholism. And then if we have any relevant issues that we do not understand after we do our Internet research, we can take a hike to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Woodard to explain things to us.

It should not come as a huge surprise that what Heather stated would start a heated discussion. For instance, her best friend since her junior year in high school, Alexis, said that they are too young and too healthy to be worried about excessive drinking. Another drinking friend named Sebastian believed that since most high school students drink there is no solid reason why they should be any different. Another friend named Kylie said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her friends. And still another buddy named Carl in point of fact agreed with Heather basically because his parents were both alcohol abusers and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related difficulties.

Heather told her classmates that she understood everything that they had said but that involving oneself in irresponsible drinking at such a risky age really cannot be very healthy or conducive toward establishing a meaningful life. When two or three of her pals asked what kind of alcohol difficulties Heather was discussing, Heather mentioned the following: alcohol-related problems like alcoholism, alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, and alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances) and alcohol-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and cirrhosis of the liver.

When Heather then mentioned that excessive and hazardous drinking usually results in legal, school, financial, and relationship problems, some of her friends finally began to comprehend how comprehensive and how unhealthy irresponsible drinking can be. Undeniably some of her friends opened up and began to explain how these alcoholism and alcohol abuse effects had adversely affected some of their friends and their parents.

After discussing some of the alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse problems that are related to abusive and excessive drinking, the vast majority of her friends seemed to agree to the idea about getting information on the web. They were, however, cautious about discussing their drinking behavior with staff at school. As Heather heard this she thought to herself, "at least they are somewhat excited about leaning more about their excessive and abusive drinking. This is a great start."
