A Married Couple Gets Concerned About Their Irresponsible And Excessive Drinking And Asks Themselves If They Exhibit Any Alcohol Dependency Signs

Lenny and Angie have been married for three years. They wanted to experience some fun and excitement before they decided to have children and so they intentionally developed a super vibrant social life.

The basic issue, however, is that nearly everything they do to have fun is related to drinking. For example, all of the sporting events, family get-togethers, parties with friends, dinner engagements, and happy hours they spend time at are related to drinking.

If they were casual drinkers this wouldn't be such a big issue. Since they drink in a hazardous manner, nonetheless, they are beginning to see some definite alcohol-related issues in their lives.

For example, just two days ago Lenny was placed under arrest for his first DWI and has been showing up late for work because of alcohol-related health problems. Not only this, but Lenny's last two performance assessments at the office have been less than praiseworthy and he has begun to forget what he says or does the times that he drinks. Lastly, Lenny has been going through sleep-related problems and his family is starting to agonize over his drinking circumstances.

In a similar manner, Angie has been feeling disheartened about things in her life and to manage these feelings, she has been drinking more intensely than any time in the past four years. What is more, Angie has been experiencing more than a few throbbing migraine headaches and experiencing severe hangovers after drinking. Lastly, Angie has been feeling considerably less active when she awakens, she has been showing up late for work, and she has been getting some damaging criticism from her family members, coworkers, friends, and relatives about her excessive and unhealthy drinking.

One Monday evening while watching the television, Lenny and Angie went through the channels and discovered a remarkable program about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about the signs of alcoholism in particular. This TV special was a real source of discovery to Angie and Lenny because some of the alcohol facts that were highlighted looked as if they were unshakably correlated with more than a few of the drinking issues Angie and Lenny had been experiencing.

With thoughts of the television program still etched in her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcohol dependency signs they have been displaying could be an indication that they are alcohol dependent or maybe becoming alcoholic. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's question and so he recommended that they make an appointment with one of the doctors at the local drug and alcohol rehab center to find out more about the severity of their drinking issues.

Ironically, although their drinking behavior hadn't yet changed, it was clear to see that Angie and Lenny were at the very least dealing with their drinking problems, they were enthusiastic about finding out more about their drinking situation, and they were interested in learning how they could appreciably reduce or get rid of the alcohol-related issues that had started to escalate.

When Angie and Lenny went to bed that night, they came to a decision that the next morning, Lenny would call and make an appointment for both of them at the drug and alcohol abuse rehab facility located downtown just outside of the business district. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to prevail over the drinking problems that had materialized in their lives, they actually had the most energizing night's sleep they could think of in the last five months.
